Ready, Set! to Ignite the Stage at the 2024 Northland Fritter Festival!

Completing the electrifying lineup for the much-anticipated 2024 Northland Fritter Festival on 9 March at Semenoff Stadium is none other than the powerhouse youth band from Whangarei Boys High School – Ready, Set!

Joining the ranks of iconic performers Sir Dave Dobbyn, Jordan Luck Band and 1 Drop Nation, Ready, Set! promises to deliver an unforgettable opening act warming up the audience for a day of summer festival vibes.

Carina de Graaf, General Manager of the Northland Events Centre (2021) Trust (festival organisers) is wrapped about Ready, Set!'s inclusion in the festival lineup: "A significant part of the Fritter Festival is about showcasing incredible Northland talent, and we are proud to provide a stage for Ready, Set! to perform in front of thousands of festival-goers in March. Our Kaupapa aligns with that of the Smokefreerockquest, aiming to offer a platform for local bands, especially youth bands, to showcase their talents."

Nate Watson, a band member from Ready, Set! says: "Heya, We're Ready, Set!. A band of young, dedicated musicians looking to blow your socks off. This year we won the 2023 Northland Region Smokefreerockquest and last year got the 2022 Northland ZM Best Song Award, so you have got a lot to look forward to. We can't wait to play for everyone, and we know you all will enjoy your time listening to some fine tunes!"

Georgia Parker of Rockquest Promotions commended the band, stating, "Ready! Set from Whangarei Boys', this year's regional 1st place band winners, are a well put-together young band. This is definitely just the start for them. It's exciting to think they'll be musicians who, in 10 years' time, we're talking about when we saw them play back when they were still in high school.
